Sten-Kristian Saluveer

The European-based film and media innovation strategist, Sten-Kristian Saluveer is an awarded film producer and programmer, public speaker and moderator, mediatainment & technology entrepreneur. He is the Strategic Advisor and Head of the innovation track - NEXT - at Marché du Film of the Festival de Cannes

Since 2020, Sten has served as Advisory Board member for the Future Hubs of the Flemish Public Broadcaster VRT along with BBC, RTBF, EBU, MCB and the Red Bull Media House, and a spokesperson for the Creative KIC of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. He is also one of the instigators of STADIEM, the €5.8 million H2020 co-financed fund to support scaling pilots with top European startups and corporates in the media and content sector.

Sten holds a BA in Electronic Media (film and television production, communications) from Concordia University Estonia, MA in Interdisciplinary Information Studies from The University of Tokyo, and is currently finishing his PhD dissertation at the University of Tokyo on value creation in content and film markets. He has further educated himself in New Media & Communications (Jönköping University, Sweden), Creative Industries Management MA (Estonian Music Academy), and in classical Japanese literature and philosophy (Tallinn University, Estonia).

He also lectures up and coming film executives at the Baltic Film and Media School / Tallinn University, the Taipei Film Academy, Ties That Bind program (EAVE), the Israel Co-Pro Market, The NEXT Wave program of the DFFB Academy Berlin, the NIFF on Tour Program at CERN, and the Geneva Film Festival. He is an in-demand public speaker and moderator on international summits and conferences, including Kellogg School of Management / Twin, DLD Conferences, and many others.
