Per Fly, Director
Per Fly graduated from the Danish film school in 1993. Fly's most significant work is the multi award-winning societal trilogy consisting of "The Bench" (2000), "Inheritance" (2003) and "Manslaughter" (2005). Fly is a recipient of the Carl Th. Dreyer Award, the Bergman award, as well as the prestigious Crown Prince Couples award.
His societal trilogy about the lower, middle and upper class in Denmark won international critical acclaim and drew a large audience. Together, the three films in the trilogy have brought in a million admissions at national cinemas alone. In 2018 Fly wrote and directed the Danish-Canadian thriller "Backstabbing for Beginners", based on the memoir "Backstabbing for Beginners - My Crash Course in International Diplomacy" by Michael Soussan.
For television Fly created the critically acclaimed miniseries "Performances" in 2007 for which actress Sonja Richter won the Golden Nymph in Monte Carlo. He conceptualized and directed several episodes of the Danish crime series "Follow the Money" (2016), which premiered at the 2015 Berlinale and won a Robert Award for Best Danish Television series in 2017. Fly is director on "Erobreren," (translates as "The Conqueror"), a historical drama series in development by producer Meta Louise Foldager of SAM Productions, based on volumes 2-4 of the major Danish literary classic "Pelle the Conqueror" by Martin Andersen Nexø.
Niels Sejer, Production Designer
Niels Sejer is a graduate from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture and studied scenic design at State University of New York at Purchase. Niels worked as assistant designer in New York for several years and since 1998 Niels´ main focus has been production design. He has designed more than 30 feature films and TV-series including international successes such as "Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" and "A Royal Affair", as well as the original Scandinavian versions of "The Killing" and "The Bridge”.
His recent projects include "The Commune" with Thomas Vinterberg, "Flatliners" with Niels Arden for Columbia Pictures and "Shadowplay" with the directing team Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein for Tandem Productions and BRON Studios.
Niels and Per Fly started their collaboration on “Backstabbing for Beginners” and have continued working together on ‘The Conqueror’ at SAM Productions and “Hamarskjöld” for Unlimited Stories. They are currently in preproduction with the SAM/DR production “Borgen 2022”.
