Anna Giralt Gris
CEO and Co-Founder, Artefacto
As the Co-Founder and CEO of Artefacto, Anna Giralt Gris is at the forefront of producing innovative films and pioneering new media ventures, emphasizing cutting-edge AI-driven applications in cinema and educational programs.
Anna Giralt Gris is an acclaimed filmmaker, producer and researcher, as well as CEO and co-founder of Artefacto. A center for research, production, and innovation in film and technology based in Barcelona.
She has produced and directed several films and new media projects that have been selected and awarded at big international festivals, including her first documentary feature ‘Robin Bank’ which premiered at CPH:DOX, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, Màlaga, Ambulante, HOF, among other, and won the Audience Award at DocsBarcelona and best documentary at FIC:CAT. Her documentary ‘44 messages from Catalonia’, was produced by Field of Vision and was included in the DMZ-Doku and the final of the Grierson Awards.
In 2018 she was selected for the IDFA DocLab Academy and in 2019 for the Berlinale Talent Campus.
Anna is also the co-director of the +Rain Film Festival, co-organized by Sónar+D and Pompeu Fabra University.
She coordinates the postgraduate course "Cinema, Algorithms, and Artificial Intelligence" at Autonomous University of Barcelona and is an associate professor at UPF. Her collaborations include work with CCCB, Foto Colectania Foundation, MediaLab Prado, and Sónar+D, among others.
She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication and a Master in Communication Research from Pompeu Fabra University.
