CHRISTIAN FABER
Christian began his career in the advertising industry back in 1986 and has since then worked with storytelling and concept development at an international level.
As partner in the advertising agency Advance his primary client has been LEGO. Throughout the years Christian Faber, in the role of Art Director, has been behind some of the toy brand’s biggest worldwide successes. For many years he was responsible for LEGO Technic and deeply involved in the collaboration between LEGO and Lucas Arts concerning STAR WARS.
The high point was the creation of the original BIONICLE toy line which was LEGO’s first self-produced IP getting an unprecedented 10-year lifespan from 2001 to 2011, with a reboot in 2015-2016. LEGO BIONICLE still has a massive fan base around the world.
In the hands of Christian Faber BIONICLE became much more than a series of toys. It became an entire universe of engaging stories, games, and music on many different platforms.
As counterweight to the advertising projects, Christian Faber started to develop his own universe in his spare time. REBEL NATURE was sparked by becoming a father and was ignited by a growing concern for the environment, climate, pollution and our blind fascination with material wealth and technology. Especially the intense pollution of the oceans gave birth to a wish to tell stories with a different purpose than selling toys; a wish to inspire and change behavior through engaging storytelling.
In 2015 Christian Faber quit his job at Advance, sold his shares in the company and left the advertising industry to put all his energy and focus into REBEL NATURE. In 2016 he started Goodman Rock with colleagues from the visual industry with the goal of creating the full IP and the feature film “Waveborn” taking place inside the Rebel Nature universe.
