Philipp Klausing
Philipp Klausing is a German film producer. He manages together with the showrunner duo Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar Berlin based production outfit Dark Ways, a company focused on producing high-quality content for a global market. The company is in production with the project ‘1899’, its first international production for Netflix.
DARK BAY
The DARK WAYS group also owns the DARK BAY, which is Europe’s largest and state-of-the-art virtual production space based on the historic lot at Studio Babelsberg. The stage, one of the world’s largest LED installations, was created out of the content creators’ perspective. As an industry first it operates a revolving stage with a diameter of 21m, which allows filming of real sets from all angles. This turntable carries up to 25 tons and can be rotated to any horizontal angle to support set changes without redressing. This way, the physical space limitations of the LED wall no longer exist, and conversion times are significantly reduced.
Philipp is an advocate of making VP accessible for local language content producers, as he thinks that regional markets will benefit the most from this production methodology.
