What’s next? Real-time technologies, Metaverse and its near future impact to film and entertainment sector
Sofie Hvitved is a Futurist and Head of Media at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, where she is currently working on the future of the Metaverse and how it will affect our lives and businesses. She is strongly engaged in the intersection between media, technology and entertainment and has a solid strategic background in the media industry, among others in DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation). She is also a member of the Danish Media Board under the Minister of Culture. She has lived and worked in various cities around the world in Europe and South America and is currently living in Copenhagen. She has an MA in Media Studies from Aarhus University, Denmark.
The buzzword for 2022 has undoubtedly been "Metaverse," occupying the prevalent mindset from the Amazon best sellers to the front pages of Time magazine to special edition Danish media outlets. For professionals, "Metaverse" is equality trending in strategy and foresight reports to announcements of startups and innovation-driven tech companies who have raised tens of millions of dollars on the "Metaverse wave."
The closing fireside chat with Sofie Hvitved, a media, and entertainment industry-focused futurist from the acclaimed Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies, will explore how the next generation of Internet or Web3, already in the making, is bringing on a new (r)evolution shaking the up the traditional industry structures and streamers focused business models.
The session will explore creative, technological, and financing innovations influencing the film industry, including game engines and real-time content creation technologies, advances in Artificial Intelligence, new connectivity and monetization systems, platforms, and audience driven models. It aims to unlock near-term and more extended strategic scenarios where the future of Nordic content, media, and film industry might be heading.
